Best Anti-Ageing Hand Creams
Is Madonna merely making a fashion statement with her ubiquitious leather gloves? Or is she trying to disguise something far more revealing - her age shock horror. Following Madge's appearance at the Golden Globes, my friend and fellow beauty blogger, Merle Brown over at Beauty Bombshells, was discussing the issue on Radio Scotland. And it seems the general consusus that whilst Her Madgesty has done a fantastic job of keeping good old Father Time at bay when it comes to facial wrinkles, her hands could be giving the age game away.
Maybe Madonna should have invested in an anti-ageing hand cream and looked after her hands as much as she did the rest of her age-defying body. There are lots of great hand creams specifically for targeting anti-ageing concerns and in definitely comes down to taste and price. But if you want to avoid ageing your hands (and perhaps copying Madonna's gloved style) then it's definitely worth investing and using in one. So here are five of the best anti-ageing hand creams I love and use in my bid to avoid old lady hands:
Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream Professional is my currenrt go-to hand cream because it's super emollient-rich treatment is perfect for my chapped hands. It contains soothing Sesame Oil and fortifying Japanese Mulberry. It works to shield hands from the elements, minimising signs of ageing and helps strengthen nails and condition cuticles for naturally youthful-looking hands. £18 from Clarins counters and online clarins.co.uk
The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream is definitely one for Madonna. It has a built-in SPF 15 and is specficially, although not exclusively for mature skin - sorry Madge but you are over 50 now. Made with rosehip oil, it provides much needed moisture to mature skin while helping to reduce the appearance of brown spots. £5 from The Body Shop stores and online thebodyshop.co.uk
Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream is launching February 2012. It's been specially formulated with lipid-rich oils including Omega 7, Avellana seed oil and Macademia seed oil, helping to delay signs of skin ageing and protect skin from damage. £22, from Elemis stockists and online timetospa.co.uk
Nuxe Rêve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream has recently been reformulated and whilst I haven't tried it, there have been mixed reviews on it, see beauty blog beaut.ie. for more info. But this has been a long-time favourite so included on that basis. It nourishes, and works as an anti-ageing hand cream, reducing wrinkles and leaving hands silky soft and supple. £10 available from spacenk.co.uk
Nivea Q10 PLUS Age Defying Hand Cream contains UVA/UVB filters to help prevent age spots and the Q10 ingredients help support your skin cell’s natural repair and restoration, helping your skin stay smooth and firm. £4.39, from Boots.
