Celebrity Looks - Coachella Festival Fashion

Coachella Music Festival-  shorts, skimpy tops, uniform brown boots (this year it was all about Isabel Marant's ‘Dicker’ boots) and acres of beaded jewellery, it's festival fashion at its celebrity finest. Course this sun-drenched, bare-legged, non-goose-bumped style isn't remotely close to my own festival experiences, which, thanks to the Scottish weather, usually involves, wellington boots, plastic bags, multiple layers and not an inch of naked flesh on show.

It's the Battle of the Blondes as the fair-haired beauties of celeb-land go head to head in a FASH-OFF for this week's best-dressed celebrity title. Reese, Taylor, Diane, Abbie and Blake -  but who is your favourite blonde bombshell?

Will it be singer Taylor Swift? She wore a pale yellow floral Elie Saab Couture gown to the 2011 Academy Of Country Music Awards on Sunday.

This week on one side of the pond we've got the couture-clad fash pack schmoozing at the shows. And in the USA, the super-cool gang are attending the Sundance Film Festival. Custom-made cool

You know you’ve made it when a fashion house like Lanvin custom-makes a dress for you. Receiving an A+ this week is Zoe Saldana at the LA premiere of Death at a Funeral who looks absolutely stunning in an orange, draped dress. It’s a blend of different dresses from Lanvin’s spring summer 10 show which had fashion editors foaming at the mouths with excitement and received rave reviews.

Zoe pairs her look with gold Christian Louboutin Titi python pumps and a Christian Louboutin leopard clutch. And doesn’t she look grrr-eat (sorry folks, couldn’t resist).

The Oscars

Last night Hollywood donned it’s glad rags and broke out the jewels for the most glamorous night of the year, the Oscars. And what a red carpet designer extravaganza it was. We’d thought it was going to be a night dominated by Marchesa gowns. And while Sandra Bullock and Vera Farmiga both wore the label, it really was a mixed bag of designers.

The Golden Globes

Where’s Björk when you need her? No worries, Mariah seems on course to fill the what-was-she-thinking? category at this year’s award shows. Admittedly she wasn’t wearing a swan dress, more’s the pity. But she did pitch up at last night’s Golden Globes in a dress that was more suited to a Snoop Dogg video.

Course, award shows were more fun when people turned up wearing funny outfits. But now, most stars use a team of experts to help avoid worst-dressed lists.
