New Summer Perfumes 2012

It may only be heading into May but I think, Nifty readers, you ought to be prepared. In fact, I feel it is my duty to give you the low-down on the latest in summer scents. That way when you hit the high street or airport shops ready to treat yourself, you are completely and wholly armed for your summer perfume shopping experience. Me? I tend to enter these shops a little over excited, spray about a dozen then have no idea which one is which so just go for whichever bottle appeals to me the most.

Ding ding, round one and it's the battle of the new perfumes. Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein, Escada, Jimmy Choo and Vivienne Westwood are just some of the designer names taking part in the spring assault on your senses - both via your nose and your eyes thanks to the crazy amount of advertising currently taking place in magazines. Yes it's the seasons of the new spring scents and it's a war for your wallet.

New Moisturisers

My skin has taken a pounding recently thanks to changing temperatures, central heating and the odd glass or two of fermented fluids so, thank heavens for a raft of new and fabulous moisturisers all helping to get radiant and replenished skin.

Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell

Beauty blog sniffs out Jo Malone's new Wild Bluebell fragrance

Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell

A smattering of bunny rabbits, a room full of bluebells and Dutch model Iekeliene Stange looking a tad ethereal - it all sounds a bit high fashion. So who'd have thought this was an ad for the new Wild Bluebell fragrance for the typically monochrome British brand, Jo Malone

Jo Malone Dry Body Oils

Jo Malone Dry Body Oils

Happily Miss Nifty is no scientist because the concept of something being dry and oily is just too, well, scientific. But without understanding the hows, we can recognise a scrumptious body product when we try one. And these new body products by British brand Jo Malone are just that - perfect for moisturising dry skin without leaving it greasy and oily. Plus they smell amazing.

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia
What does it promise to do?:

The essence of Autumn, English Pear & Freesia is an evocative fragrance that captures the scent of just-ripe pears, cooled by the air, ready to twist free from the tree. The surprising, sensuous freshness of sweet pears is wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias, on a subtle background of scrambling wild roses and skin-warming amber, patchouli and woods.

Do we like?:

This is a truly gorgeous fragrance and Jo Malone is right - it's perfect for autumn. The scent of the pears is crisp and fresh, combining so well with the subtle floral smells. This is the only perfume in which pears is the dominant scent. But, it just does not last on skin. And the fact it's such a gorgeous tantilising smell you want it to last so it makes it all the more disappointing.

Where can I buy it?:

Jo Malone stores nationwide or www.jomalone.co.uk

How much is it?:

£34.00 for 30ml/ £68.00 for 100ml
