DayWear Creme SPF 15

DayWear Creme SPF 15 product review
What does it promise to do?:

Almost like a “skin superfood,” this incredible moisturiser provides your skin with daily anti-oxidants and SPF 15 protection. It helps neutralise every key type of free radical before they can prematurely age your appearance.

Do we like?:

Looking to tackle anti-aging whilst keeping skin hydrated all-day and protect against sun damage? Use this. Actually, use this even if these things aren't on your checklist because this is a brilliant moisturiser.

Skin is left smooth, supple, line-free and totally hydrated. It isn't heavy and doesn't over-load skin which can cause breakouts. After a few week's use, there's a change in skin's texture, it looks healthier and more hydrated.

Creme de la Mer The Radiant Serum

Creme de la Mer The Radiant Serum product review
What does it promise to do?:

The Radiant Serum illuminates the complexion immediately on contact, awakening a brilliant new clarity. Targeted skin tone correctors help dissolve the look of discoloration. Water borne anti-oxidants help skin remain looking even and bright.

Do we like?:

It's difficult to review this product, released March 2011, without first mentioning the price. So we'll do it fast, like a plaster, and get the pain over with. It costs £215.

Yikes, that's a sore one isn't it. So is it worth it? That depends on what's important to you. If you can't live without plumper, more radiant and even-toned skin then yes. On first application it glides onto skin and is absorbed immediately. If you're looking for a glow boost, then this provides it. Skin is noticeably more radiant after the first day of using. Pores are less noticeable, skin is plumped up and so looks smoother and more even-toned.

However, we can't ignore the price. This Nifty tester certainly couldn't stretch to this price but gratefully received a sample. But the price is a major problem. So despite a brilliant product, we have to take a heart off for affordability.

Dior Instant Eye Makeup Remover

Dior Instant Eye Makeup Remover product review
What does it promise to do?:

Perfectly suited to the fine, weakened and lipid-poor skin of the eye contour area. This two-phase makeup remover comes to grips with the most resistant, including waterproof, make-up. When the bottle is shaken, the emollient crystalline oil and blue-tinted water, rich in moisturizing agents, instantly blend together to offer both gentle and effective cleansing action. The eyelids are perfectly clean, soft and moisturized; the eyelashes supple and silky smooth.

Do we like?:

We love our mascaras, eye liners and shadows here at Nifty HQ. But some of those products are so good, that come bed-time, we just can't get rid of them. Well, that was before we were introduced to this amazing eye makeup remover from Dior.

It's non-oily and leaves no hint of greasiness. And unlike other eye makeup remover products, there's no smudging or streaking. Eye makeup just disappears.

At £20, this is a luxury product, especially when there's other eye makeup removers which cost less than a fiver. But this is definitely one of the best we've ever tested. No racoon eyes, just clean soft, moisturised eyes and we say this is well worth paying for.

Elemis Rehydrating Rosepetal cleanser

Elemis Rehydrating Rosepetal cleanser
What does it promise to do?:

Active extracts of healing Rosepetal, Lecithin and Vitamins E and F replenish moisture levels, whilst gently purifying the skin. Elemis Rehydrating Rosepetal Cleanser is a rich, aromatic Cleansing Milk that helps restore the youthful bloom to dehydrated and mature skin.

Do we like?:

Smooth, soothing and utterly perfect, this cleanser is one of our makeup bag must-haves. The smell is lightly floral, not in least over-powering, just refreshing and clean.

The texture is silky smooth and gentle. It's not at all oily, doesn't dry skin out nor lead to any break-outs. We've used it all winter and our skin has remained moisturised and completely hydrated.

Given the dearth of off the shelf cleaners available in drug stores and the like, this may be more than you'd consider paying for such product. But once you've used it you'll think it's a bargain. You will notice a difference to your skin in days.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Contentrate

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Contentrate
What does it promise to do?:

Hyaluronic Acid is able to bind lots of moisture growing up the 30-fold of its own volume. In a network with water, Hyaluronan forms a viscous gel and thus acts as a cellular space filler, plumping up deep wrinkles from inside out.

Do we like?:

Serums and concentrates should be part of your daily skincare regime. This one from Eucerin helped keep skin moisturised but we didn't see much impact on the wrinkles or any signs of plumping up so disappointing results overall.

Neal's Yard Daily Brightening moisturiser

Neal's Yard Daily Brightening moisturiser
What does it promise to do?:

Diminishes the appearance of dark spots and uneven pigmentation as skin is nourished and hydrated.  Skin looks more even and luminous and feels beautifully soft, smooth and better protected. The innovative blend includes brightening African star grass, scientifically proven to effectively brighten the skin, with antioxidant vitamin C and moisturising tara.

Do we like?:

This adds a glow to skin which looks natural and doesn't contain any irridiscent pieces. Plus leaves skin super soft and smooth. However, on it's own, it's not that hydrating and actually left skin feeling slightly tight which was disappointing. So for best results use with a serum or additional moisturiser.
