Leighton's New Single
Is This Video Something To Love?
Leighton Meester isn’t content to be actress, oh no. In a world where actresses are no longer just actresses, and singers are no longer just singers, Gossip Girl Leighton is the latest star to attempt a cross-over. Her new toon, Somebody To Love, is the first track from her soon-to-be-released debut album.
The tune’s video has just been released stateside and boy, looks like Leighton was going all out to drop the Blair Waldorf tag. The Gossip Girl star is doing her very best sexy singer impersonation made good by the likes of Madonna, Beyoncé and of course, Britney. It features Leighton writhing around in her undies in a variety of locations- in lifts, on beds, up walls, in the back of cars, well pretty much anywhere.
There’s been plenty of artists cross-over between the entertainment spheres in the past decade. Some have been amazing, think Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, or even Jennifer Lopez in Out of Sight. And some have been not so good, we know Madonna’s an easy target but have you seen Swept Away? Don’t. Then there’s Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff and Paris Hilton, who doesn’t really seem to be good at either.
Anyway, we loved Leighton's debut into the charts this summer when she sang on Cobra Starship's Good Girl’s Gone Bad. And we'll admit we've had this new tune, Somebody To Love, stuck in our heads for days. But as Gossip Girl fans we're slightly confused by the sight of Leighton going all sexy in her undies because she plays the show's Park Avenue Princess, Blair Waldorf, so well.
